hello tessa (and other instruments!),

recently, as i was packing to move to the west coast from detroit, i was describing my ideal work position to my friend ben over some shared miso sesame cucumbers. as i ran down my list of experience, values, skills, and interests, he stopped me.
instrument. you need to work at instrument. it's the perfect fit.
and how true it is! so, fast forward. here i am. applying for the dream job i described to him--senior producer at instrument.

TL;DR: i embody over 20 years experience in steering complex (and often massive! ) projects rooted in brand identity and strategy, and discovering innovative approaches to craft impactful experiences and innovative outcomes. past projects have practiced these skills though my large-scale art installation work and in my tenure building community and supporting projects at IDEO.

if i may just pump my own tires for a moment...
:: cracks knuckles::
my superpower as a producer is the natural ability to simultaneously hold both the 20,000 foot vision and detailed logistics in focus. i find this to be a rare quality as i share it with folks. i intuitively steward all aspects of a project plan, infusing specific and impactful production tactics to ensure goals and expectations are met on-time and on-budget. and, while i draw on a foundation of methods of project management, i produce each project with curiosity and adaptability.

i structure collaboration purposefully—mindfully connecting early in the project plan, practicing empathetic communication to forge collaborative, supported, often deeply-connected partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. then, while in motion, i balance the interests and needs of internal and external stakeholder though the process of weaving influence and implementation, influence and implementation, on repeat.

in my time at IDEO, i supported mutli-disciplinary design project teams through thin and thick moments of productivity, both lifting the weight of logistics and administrative tasks off of their creative minds as well as infusing designers and clients with inspiration when the timing was ripe.

as an installation artist, the scale i work at--examples include filling a 17-room blighted house with botanics, overtaking an abandoned convenience store with flowers, and landscaping the inside of a former factory with living green grass--immerses me in my preferred zone of orchestrating the infinite to-dos and details with holding and communicating the vision to collaborators.

so, tessa!
in case it's not obvious, i'd be absolutely thrilled, challenged, and stimulated to work at instrument in the role of senior producer, and i'd excel your expectations if given the opportunity. but! don't take my word for it! i invite you and encourage you to take a look at the hype vid i've compiled from former coworkers and collaborators here.

i (truly, excitedly) look forward to hearing from you,
